The most beautiful and important monument in Helsinki that you should view during your weekend is Senate Square; it has architecturally beautiful houses that surround the most famous monument, Helsinki Cathedral. Helsinki Cathedral is what Helsinki is known for, and it is truly beautiful.
Ateneum Art Museum is the largest art museum in Finland. It has mostly Finnish art from 1750s to 1950s. You can take part in guided tours or just see it on your own.
Helsinki has couple of Michelin star restaurants, but we think Chef & Sommelier is the best. They mostly use organic and fair trade ingredients, and the food is very Finnish.
When you’re in Helsinki and in a good restaurant, you should eat fish. In Chef & Sommelier there is a dish of lavaret and its roe, it’s worth a try.
There is a neighborhood which houses most if the foreign embassies and it’s very close to the center of Helsinki. Also, if you like going to local pubs, there are plenty of those in Kallio. You can take a train to Kamppi from the Central Railway Station.
