Are you a fan of sightseeing? Even if you aren't, you won't be able to resist a walk through the 'Old Town', the biggest and most well preserved Medieval Town in the world, where you will find the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, and the archaeological museum of Rhodes that is housed at the old hospital of the Knights. The aquarium of Rhodes should be the next 'sight' you visit, which also serves as a research center and a museum, built in 1934 while the island was under Italian rule.
Now lunch, at the region of 'Mandraki' where you can find plenty of descent taverns and restaurants with mostly Greek food, my favorite being 'The Tavern of Giannis', especially appropriate for those who seek fresh and tasty fish dishes. After your meal you will find plenty of gift shops around, to get presents and souvenirs for your friends and family back home.
You will have to wait two hours until digestion is complete, but eventually you are going at one of the beautiful beaches that you will find mostly on the east coast of the island, for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. There is not much wind there and most of them are appropriate for families with children. You can also choose the region of 'Ladiko' where there is a small gulf named 'Anthony Quinn', after the Hollywood actor and star, and it's where the shooting for the movie 'The Guns Of Navarone' took place in 1960-1961.For a windy beach, the surfers should take their surfboards and go south to 'Prasonisi'. A little heads up, renting a car will be a must for visiting those beaches/places and more.
Lindos is the paradise of Rhodes for dinner options and nightlife in general, meaning from quiet cafe-bars to night clubs for partying until the next morning. My personal favorite restaurant there would be 'Dionysos', with Greek dishes of great quantity and quality and the brilliant host named 'Michalis' that will make your evening even greater. Take your time at the restaurant and drink your 'Ouzo' with a view of the beautiful Acropolis of Lindos (second greatest in Greece after the one in Athens), until it's time to start the rest of your night at one of the many local bars or night clubs around. As an admirer of rnb and hip hop music, 'Arches' night club is my personal favorite, with tasty cocktails and clean drinks at very reasonable prices. In case you don't want to party too hard, choose one of the chill out bars around, with my suggestion being the 'Apollo Bar', which is family ran and will make you feel even more welcome on this great island.
At one time it was housing one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Colossus of Rhodes, now it's one of the wonder islands that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
